Our remanufacturing quality goes beyond the level of repairment and achieves
what can be compared to the quality level of OEM manufacturing
Automatic transmission failure is something that you cannot avoid when you own an imported vehicle. When faced with such a failure, on top of being flustered, consumers are burdened with a high cost of repair. Samjung Auto Mission and Samjung Reman Co., Ltd. have obtained ISO certification and numerous patents on auto transmission remanufacturing. based on thirty years of continuous investment and R&D.
This allowed us to lessen the burdens for consumers by developing remanufactured automatic transmission and related parts that are 95% the quality and durability of the new at 20 to 50% of the cost. Furthermore, it has led us to become the frontier for the remanufacturing industry that recycles resources.
Automatic transmission rebuilding is the process of disassembling a transmission that has experienced a functional failure and remanufacturing it through cleaning, inspection, refurbishment, replacement of parts, and performance testing, at the level equivalent to a production process for new parts.
With the best of effort, Samjung Reman Co., Ltd. remanufactures the key automatic transmission parts through remanufacturing that is equivalent to the production process of the new and provides them to imported car repair shops nationwide at a price of 20-50% of the cost of new ones, so that they can provide repair services to consumers.
Here are some of the most common transmission failure symptoms, causes, and repair processes for major imported vehicles sold in Korea, including Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, and more. If you car has similar symptoms, please contact Samjung Auto Mission.
We provide welcoming and accurate guide through the diagnosis and repair process with our 30 years of experience in imported car automatic transmission.
Partial repair: 6 months / 10,000kmRepair of two or less transmission components such as torque converter, valve body (mechatronics), clutch, TCU, etc.
Full repair: 1 year / 20,000kmRepair of three or more transmission components such as torque converter, valve body (mechatronics), clutch, TCU, etc. The standards for partial/full repair may vary by vehicle model.
Warranty periods vary for performance warranty repairs on pre-owned vehicles!
If you're not sure about the symptoms and you live far away, visit a Samjung Auto Mission's service partner technically trained by us. They can check for fault codes, share commissioning information, and guide you through the cost and process of repair.
For remote customers, if you're experiencing abnormal symptoms after delivery, Samjung Auto Mission's service partners can diagnose symptoms, check for abnormalities such as oil leakage, and guide you through the warranty service process.

We've compiled a list of common malfunction symptoms that occur in imported cars. Click on the symptom that applies to your car for a brief explanation of the cause and tips on what to do.
CauseA number of different things can cause the transmission warning light to come on. If you're able to drive normally, it's fine to travel to a short distance destination while going slow. However, if you can only drive forward or backward, or not at all, it's likely that damage has occurred inside the transmission.
Even if you are able to drive normally when you start the car again after shutting the engine off, we recommend that you visit a service center or Samjung Auto Mission as soon as possible for a thorough check. If you are still unable to drive the car, please use an insurance towing service or other vehicle transportation service to bring your car to Samjung Auto Mission. (We receive cars for service 24/7)
CauseTransmission hold is a symptom where the vehicle is stuck in a specific gear (usually Gear 3) and will not shift, with a stalling sensation at low speeds and a lack of speed at high speeds. This is a measure that allows the TCU to recognize that an electronic or mechanical failure has occurred and enter a self-protection mode to prevent further damage.
If it's a temporary issue caused by an abnormal electronic signal, you may be able to drive normally when you turn the engine off and on again. However, it's usually much more likely that mechanical damage has occurred, so rather than driving the car, we recommend that you bring it in to a service center or Samjung Auto Mission for a full inspection, preferably by towing.
CauseThe most likely cause is a failure of the torque converter, a device that efficiently transfers the power produced by the engine to the mission. Initially, the shudder may occur in a certain range, but as the failure progresses, it may become impossible to drive.
The torque converter is a device mounted at the front of the transmission, and if left unattended, the damage can affect other parts of the transmission. We recommend repairing it as soon as possible. Samjung Auto Mission is a specialized company that has the best torque converter remanufacturing facilities and technology in Korea and holds relevant patents.
CauseThe failure is most likely in the valve body, the unit that controls shifting inside the transmission, or in the mechatronics that combines the valve body and TCU. Initially, there may be a slight jerking when shifting gears, but as the failure progresses, there may also be some shock when simply shifting the gear lever from a standstill (the shock that occurs when shifting gears on an incline is unrelated).
Actions that can be taken vary depending on the manufacturer and model of the valve body and mechatronics. In general, the vehicle may need a repair or a new replacement.
CauseRear-wheel/4-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with differential gears to shift drive power, and if the internal bearings or gears become damaged, a high-frequency noise is caused depending on the rotational speed. If the damage is minor, you'll hear a high-frequency noise that sounds like a light humming. But if the damage is more severe, you may have trouble driving and hear the machine banging.
There are many different things that can cause a car to make noise, so it's best to have your car inspected by a service center or Samjung Auto Mission to determine if it needs to be repaired.
CauseThis symptom is most common on vehicles with electronic gearlevers. It is often caused by a failure in the control module (TCU or automatic lever unit) or a failure in the gear lever itself.
Check the owner's manual for the unlocking the park setting for each model.
Mercedes-Benz - There is no way to unlock the park setting in the vehicle, so it must be towed.
BMW (older models) - Pull the manual park release cable under the steering wheel.
BMW (newer models) - Use a special tool in the trunk to remove the cup holder in front of the shift lever, insert the tool and turn it to unlock the park setting.
Audi - Remove the ashtray in front of the shift lever, press the button in the small hole, and pull the lever.
CauseThis symptom occurs primarily in dual-clutch transmissions (Audi S tronic) and is often caused by abnormal control of the valve body (mechatronics) inside the transmission or clutch damage.
Carefully inspect the mechatronics, clutch, and mecha+clutch for damage and decide how to proceed with the repair. Typically, if the mileage is below 80,000 kilometers, it is more likely that the issue has to do with the mechatronics alone, but if the mileage is above 80,000 kilometers, it is more likely to be a mecha+clutch failure.
CauseThis is a common issue in 4-wheel drive vehicles and is typically caused by a malfunction in the transfer case, the unit that distributes drive power.
First, check the recommended wheel and tire sizes for compliance, then check the front left/right and rear left/right tire tread wear and replace the tires or adjust the alignment if there is uneven or abnormal wear.
Compared to new production
200kg of CO2 is saved per transmission remanufactured compared to new production
Year production
2,500 vs. X 200kg = 500ton reduction per year
